Carter wondered through the doors of medical. Looking around, small ship small medical bay, that said it was of the same design as the one installed on the Intrepid Class, not massive but maybe bigger than needed on a short range vessel like the Eagle. "Narisa?" she called looking but not seeing her in the small bay. Shrugging Ajani went into the CMO's office and took a seat on the visitors chair waiting for what she assumed would be the imminent arrival of the Doctor, given this was the appointment time given.

The CMO came out of the small storage cupboard and watched the CO move into her office. She sighed. She didn't expect the CO to actually arrive. She moved to the door. "Captain."

Swinging around in her chair. "Hello Doctor" she said with a pleasant smile. "Were you not expecting me? We do have an appointment do we not?" She was well aware that many officers didn't like doctors, let alone going to see one, Carter was not one of those officers.

"We do, however I was not expecting you to be honest." Narisa said calmly. "Most CO's avoid medical like the plague"

"Not me" Ajani said "I understand the need for medicals. Plus" she added "A Captain that can't make time to get hers shouldn't expect her staff to either" Carter didn't see the fuss about medical's, there were a vital baseline for future treatment. "Where you want me?"

The CMO waved towards the bio beds. "Pick one Captain." she said as she turned to gather her instruments. "And get comfortable."

Gracefully rising out of the chair she headed for a bio bed at random and lifted herself up on the bed. They were brand new and still had the 'new car' smell. She smiled to herself.

Narisa turned and walked over to the selected bio bed. She hit a button and the scans began. She picked up the tricorder. "Do you have any medical conditions that I should be aware of?"

"During my last posting i was injured when the ship was struck by a dark matter micro asteroid" she remembered it all too well, she had been in command of the ship with the Captain and an engineering team were upgrading a deep space relay when they were struck. "A console exploded and i too a 3 inch piece of plexiglass to the chest" she touched her chest just to the right of the bottom of her sternum, chattered a rib, broke another, it punctured a lung and perforated my liver." she half shrugged "I recovered after surgery but the head doctors think i have a minor case of PTSD"

Narisa nodded and checked the files against the verbal account as she spoke. "According to the files you are lucky to be alive." she said almost absently. "There is a counselor on board, I suggest you make an appointment. While you meet all the physical markers of health, mental health is just as important."

"I am already on their list, not seen them yet, but the appointment is soon" She shrugged "A peace time accident like that is harder to accept, The bridge suffered massive damage and only two others survived the explosion." she had spoken about it more than she would like. "There had been nothing that could have prevented it. I stayed on duty for almost an hour after I got hit to make sure the ship survived and we didn't lose any signal. I am told that i passed out and was beamed into surgery"

"Well, the doctors were pleased with the outcome of the surgery."Narisa said softly. "They are happy with your recovery."

Carter nodded, "How did the rest of the crew fair their medicals." She knew there was a confidentiality issue but she didn't want details. "Anything i should know?"

"The crew I have seen so far are fit and healthy. Your chief of Science needs some social training but other than that, they are fine as far as a medical perspective is concerned."

Carter smiled "Yes, she is a dream isn't she?" the question was both sarcastic and rhetorical. "Were you able to secure the extra supplies from the quarter masters office?" There were a number of very treatable diseases running rampant across some of Cardassia's fringe worlds. If the Eagle could help them, even a little then it would go a long way to improving relations between the UFP and the Union

"Yes, they are all stored and ready Captain." Narisa replied.

Carter hopped off the biobed and tugged at her uniform jacket. "I guess i should get a move on, we will be approaching our next way point soon" The good doctor had already turned back to her work. Carter had managed to get some of the best people in the fleet, but that also meant that she had a group of officers with a range of 'different' personality types. So she didn't begrudge the doctor returning to her work without saying a farewell. Ajani headed for the door, and then the nearest turbolift.
