Narisa sat quietly in the crew compartment of the shuttle that now approached the dry dock of the USS Eagle. Esquimalt Station was coming into view and she sighed as she read again the orders. She had to remind herself, she had chosen this. She had chosen to step clear of her parents and their legacy on the Hirotoha. Had chosen to be freer in her life. She was 25 for god’s sake. She needed to get out and do stuff. She had to keep reminding herself of this.

She sat there watching as the shuttle got closer to the station. And considered the fact that, this time, it was going to be her medical bay, not her mother’s. She looked down at her nails, which for once were nicely firm and long. She had painted them a dark red, for it looked god against her green skin tone. It was a good sign. It meant that her nerves were not bad as they had been.

“Lieutenant, we are arriving” the pilot said.

Nari stood. “Thank you, Ensign,” She was glad she was in her uniform. She bent and picked up her duffel bag and slung it over her shoulder. She gripped the handrail above her head as the shuttle touched down on the station. She had already tracked how long it would take her to get from the Shuttle bay to the docking collar and was pleased to note that 15 minutes was not that long. She had, walked further in her life.

The thud and then the hiss of air releasing, had Nari smiling faintly. Time to get this show on the road. She needed to make sure she was prepared for this. -remember- she told herself as she forced her legs to move and walked down the ramp -New Life, new Nari. You are going to be great at this. CMO of a vessel. You will be fine!-

She paused at the base of the ramp and noted as crew flowed around the shuttle bay and smiling faintly she moved through them towards the exit and her destination.

The Starfleet officers around her, barely glanced in her direction. Which to Narisa’s mind was a good thing. She didn’t want to attract any unwanted attention and knew the best way to do that was to maintain a calm façade and pretend like she didn’t notice any weird looks. She had faced her fair share of those on the Hirotoha from new crew.

Throwing off the thoughts that she had she made her way to the docking collar of the USS Eagle and after a few moments where she was scanned and her records checked, was allowed to proceed into the vessel. A small smile flitted across her lips as she stepped onto her new assignment. Yes, she could do this.
