Episode 1: On Stranger Tides
Location: Sickbay

Dr. Granger entered the sickbay with a smile and examined the sickbay. Her eyes scanned every past of the room down to the last detail.
'Six biobeds. Sufficient for crew health, and as usual insufficient for battle wounded during combat. Like any Starfleet vessel. I may need to work with this doctor to find a solution for combat overflow during critical situations. As usual, the internal voice was analytical and extremely articulate.
Narisa had just finished up another discussion -See argument- with an Engineer around the placement of certain devices within the medical bay. Having considered her point valid and made, she simply stated "get it done' and left the man to fume. Stepping out of one of the small side rooms, she paused and studied the woman standing in the centre of sickbay. "Lieutenant? Can I help you?" she asked.
"I need my physical." She said simply. She looked around. "Insufficient... During combat situations, this sickbay would fill up fast. Fifteen in the first minute... Twenty in the first five minutes.... And fifty in thirty minutes." She noted.
"Yes I am aware." Came the reply from the Orion. "Please have a seat on that bio bed." Narisa waved to the bed.
"Sorry." She noted. "Some people know how not to think. Me however, I cannot stop thinking. Dr. Elisabet Granger."
"Welcome to my medical bay Dr Granger. I am Lieutenant JG Narisa MD." She picked up a medical tricorder. "Any preexisting conditions?"
She nods. "We all think differently. I think more differently than many. There is more going on inside me than it appears. I may seem odd at times, rest assured I'm not insane." Lise noted. "Lounge and Gymnasium will not be used during combat. Some simple modifications will allow these facilities to be used as triage centers. It will reduce crew fatality levels in battle." She proposed.
Okay so that did not answer her question. But Narisa, chose to ignore it and just scan the woman. She took the scan and placed it into the file. "You are healthy for your age Doctor." she said brightly.
"Yes, That's more of an answer for a Counselor than a Doctor." She noted. "It's good to meet you. Teal shirts have to stick together." She smiled.
"Indeed" came the reply from Narisa "Well I can confirm that you are fit for duty. I will log it so no one can contest otherwise."
"Forgive me for asking. You escaped the Syndicate?" Granger noted.
"Yes" came the calm reply. Narisa was used to the questions, but she never really invited them.
"Life is difficult for you. Speak to me when you need it. Call me when you need another medic. My triage skills are good." She smiled warmly. She needed a friend.
"I shall keep both those points in mind Doctor. Do you have any medical concerns I should be aware of that relate to you?" Narisa tried one last time.
"No." It was a simple answer, and it summed it up perfectly.
"That's good. If that changes however, please do not hesitate to come down here ok?"
"I developed than most. It had to do with an exotic Class M world that was colonized then abandoned. My mind developed slower in childhood, but when it developed my intelligence exponentially increased. Intelligence yet I'm a social idiot through no fault of my own."
"Well I am sure you will find friends here." Narisa said calmly. "Once you explain why your are the way you are," she added with a small smile.
"I was born on a failed colony. It failed because of me." Lise noted. "The environment created changes in my development when I was still in the process of forming in my mother's womb. It had something to do with food grown in the native soil. An aberration in my brain when I was a child. Long term memory; I can remember my mother's perfume when i was five years old. Short term; I usually have a personal planner that reminds me of important things. And words flow more freely in my mind, but come out awkward when I speak. It was difficult to even get this far with speech. I speak better on the inside too." Lise noted. "I'm brilliant, but my communication skills are.... inefficient. I think internally better than externally. Do you follow?"
Narisa smiled "Yes." She said honestly. "I follow"
