| Personal History | Kanani was born in Pleasanton, outside of San Francisco. Her mother worked security at Starfleet Headquarters and her father was a holo-novelist. When she was 7 she was a witness to the Breen attack on Earth. It did not affect her as much as it affected her parents, but the whole family started going to therapy as a result. Her mother was diagnosed with PTSD and went through a lot of treatment for her symptoms. Over time, Kanani became interested in the work doctors were doing with her mother and decided to become a counselor herself. She went to the Academy and afterward went straight to the USS Eagle. |
